Looking Back at China

Looking back at my time in Shanghai, China is just amazing. I was teaching Language Arts and volunteering at the church as much as I could. I was thinking about it the other day and wanted to share a couple photos.

Teaching Chinese students English really blessed my life and I learned a lot about teaching, creating curriculum, public speaking, and most of all how to run youth programs effectively. The kids were obviously awesome and teaching and working with them made the rest of the job worth it. I taught multiple classes a week. I designed curriculum for STEM themed summer camps, managed teachers, and ran the entire department of the camp.
I also did a lot with the church at the time. This photo below is of us at the all city youth conference in shanghai. This was my small group of boys that I led.

Connecting with so many kids of all ages and teaching them about Christ was life changing. I found my calling to become a pastor right there. I was volunteering for the church anywhere from 20-40 hours a week. I was preaching, teaching bible studies, and helping with retreats and mission trips. Getting to share the love of God with so many kids was such a privilege.
I don't know if I will be involved in youth programs in the future but I sure hope that I will.
